I am a registered Dental Hygienist and Therapist with the General Dental Council, UK. You will find me at {My}dentist, Stanford Road, and {My}dentist Shakespeare Road, Basingstoke. 

Did you know, you can see a Dental Hygienist without the need to see a Dentist first? Since 2013, the General Dental Council (GDC), made it possible for patients to have access to a Dental Hygienist and Therapist without the need for an initial appointment with a dentist. Giving people more freedom and access to a Dental Hygienist and Therapist.

(Airflow/Prophylaxis Polish)
Follow up routine dental hygiene appointment after the initial appointment. 

I will be reviewing progress from first visit, give you tips on how best to look after your dental health in between appointments. 
I will be measuring the health of your gums taking a Basic Periodontal Exam.  
I will clean your teeth as necessary, removing all deposits which are major risk factors for gum disease and tooth decay.
I will finish with prophylaxis polishing of your teeth for a beautiful squeaky clean feel. 

This treatment is for those with advanced gum disease

I will be taking detailed indices to assess the extent of your gum disease and how to best treat your specific gum disease. 
Record Plaque and Bleeding Scores to assess levels of oral hygiene and extent of gum disease.
Record Pocket Chart to assess loss of attachment of periodontal tissues
Record Recession Chart, 
Mobility -Check and record if any teeth are mobile/ moving due to gum disease
Root Surface Debridement (RSD) cleaning under the gums/on roots with our special tools

You will need your teeth cleaned before teeth whitening. I will remove tartar deposits, stains and any retentive factors that may affect the results of your teeth whitening.
